Big Lake

The Big Lake area is known for outdoor fun. There are a huge number of lakes in the "Big Lake" area ranging from small ponds to large lakes.  Big lake has several public and private boat launches and is used by everyone in the area for summer and winter recreation. Water skiing, jet skiing, fishing, leisure boating, swimming, and fishing in the summer. In the winter you can go ice fishing, have camp fires on the lake, ride snow machines, cross country ski or just enjoy the many trails throughout the area. Big lake also has a maintained winter road across the lake to give home/cabin owners easy access to their shorefront properties in the winter. Close proximity to Wasilla, plus the large number of moose and other animals make for a unique place found nowhere else in Alaska
